Taking on Polio
This is an interview with world leading philanthropist, Bill Gates. As you may be aware, Rotary started the eradication of polio in 1985 when it was endemic around the globe. That global campaign was since joined by the World health organisation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This horribly disabling and sometimes fatal disease, mainly affecting children has now been reduced to a few countries in Africa and Asia However, as long as there is still any case anywhere, the risk of the revival of endemic Polio cannot be excluded. All must therefore contribute their efforts to the complete eradication aimed for the next 3-5 years.Annual Letter from Bill Gates
